Hi Emily,

Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad the post resonated with you. I go back and read it myself every now and then as I reminder. It's so easy to get caught up in getting through the day that I forget to stop and think about why I do the things I do.

Beth, thanks for linking up today!

I love this post. It is important to be purposeful in all those things, but so easy to forget. I'm going to stick this on my fridge.

Hi Beth, that was a very inspiring post. Would make people sit and start thinking why they do what they do or want to do certain things in their lives. http://climatarians.org guesses this is part of goal setting in management. Once you decide what you want and why you want it, then whatever you do has a reason. It is no longer just chores. They become enjoyable because you know what you’re shooting after.

Makes a lot of sense!

Thanks for the comments, Vin and Heather. It's hard to consciously dedicate "found" time to enriching tasks. I'm working at it, but I think the first step is to consider setting aside that extra time for something you want to do.

Beth,

This is a wonderful, wonderful post! The section on saving time really hit home with me. We all try to do things faster and more efficiently, but for what?

I think it's great to identify what you're going to do with all that "saved time", so it really means something.

Really thought-provoking. Thanks!

Great post, Beth! These are great topics that I spend a lot of time thinking about. I think it all comes down to finding a way to combine your passions and values into a meaningful purpose that will be a strong source of fulfillment. Of course, finding a way to profit from it is a key part of supporting yourself, and in turn, creating the freedom to dedicate more of your time to it.

To me, the planet is a bit of a separate issue. My efforts to preserve it are based on my respect for nature and for the lives that depend on it.
